When Catherine says she "works in the gray," she isn't talking about the weather here in the Pacific Northwest. For her, the gray represents the—unknown questions yet to be answered and problems yet to be solved. This is how she approaches both her art, which ranges from African wildlife photography to abstract painting, and her work at AHA!. She starts with a client's communications challenge, thinks through the gray and comes up with a clear-eyed solution.
