AHA! will be attending, presenting and blogging at this week’s much-anticipated Opportunity Green conference, Sept. 22–24 in Los Angeles. We’re pleased to be the official blog sponsor for the event, and the impressive lineup of speakers includes our own Betsy Henning, who will lead a breakout session on CSR communications. Our bloggers will be reporting live from conference, and they’ve already been talking with OG speakers and attendees about the state—and future—of sustainable business. Follow the OG blog or our own Shiny Green Button to keep up.
At AHA!, we’re in the business of helping companies tell their sustainability stories. So of course, you’ll find us where leaders and entrepreneurs gather to discuss the economic realities and opportunities of sustainability. Next up: the Sustainable Industries Economic Forum in Portland, featuring a lively breakfast keynote and discussion with Cameron Sinclair, co-founder and “eternal optimist” at Architecture for Humanityand a presentation by local industry and political leaders. Hope to see you there, and be sure to stop by our table and say hello!

PubTalk happens once again at AHA! Wednesday, September 15. The bimonthly gathering offers a chance for entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurial-minded in Southwest Washington to meet, learn and share. September’s event features Vancouver-based Hourglass Coffee, creator of the world’s coolest cold-brew coffee maker, and guest speaker Mark Paul, author of The Entrepreneur’s Survival Guide. The event is sponsored by the Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council, and AHA! is thrilled to be part of it!
This summer, AHA! received three awards for two of our favorite recent projects. The customer version of HP’s 2008 Global Citizenship Report earned a Gold distinction from the 2010 Magnum Opus Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Custom Media, as well as an Award of Excellence from the Apex Awards for Publication Excellence. The Top Producers Campaign we developed for Charles Schwab also picked up an Apex Award of Excellence. Congratulations to our clients and our creative team!

- HP, Customer Global Citizenship Report—Platinum
- PricewaterhouseCoopers, Keyword magazine—Platinum
- Charles Schwab, Benchmarking Report—Gold

For the third year in a row, AHA! played a key role in developing HP’s annual global citizenship report. We helped launch the comprehensive report on HP’s corporate social responsibility efforts, and we developed the creative concept for a magazine-style companion piece, Changing the Equation: The impact of global citizenship in 2009—and beyond. We also wrote and edited most of the content for this piece, which includes thought-leadership essays exploring the forces that are reshaping business, society and the environment.
We’re thrilled to be working with the Green Electronics Council on EPEAT®, the preeminent environmental rating system for electronics. We’ll create a suite of marketing and communications strategies and materials to help increase awareness and adoption of EPEAT in the global marketplace. Doing work that does good: this is right where we want to be.
